apl.de.ap is a rapper, a producer and also a breakdancer. He is one of the members of the hip hop group Black Eyed Peas. He was born in Angeles City, Philippines and he is of African-American and Filipino descent. apl's father abandoned his family shortly after he was born. As a child, apl.de.ap was sponsored by the Pearl S. Buck Foundation which helps to provide educational opportunities and health care to impoverished young Asian children. Later apl moved to the United States where he met will.i.am, who was the son of a close friend of apl's American sponsor and they eventually formed the Black Eyed Peas.

apl.de.ap is about to release a solo-effort album called You Can Dream. His first single from the album is also called You Can Dream. It is an inspirational song that features Billy Crawford. The video below is a live performance of You Can Dream in the Philippines in a variety game show called Wowowee.
