YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! I found some RARE tracks from Styles Infinite for you guys!! I LOVE IT when I come across rarities like these! It feels like I have uncovered a lost part of Asian rap history. You guys don't know how ecstatic I am to have found these tracks!! Styles Infinite was part of the now disbanded Philadelphia rap trio the Mountain Brothers. These two singles, Fresh Air / Aquarian Mind and Easy on the Ears, were released circa 2000-2001 before the release of the Mountain Brothers' sophomore album Triple Crown in 2003. According to the Mountain Brothers wikipedia page, it says that Styles Infinite is now a doctor. Now this is a longshot but, STYLES INFINITE if you happen to come across this blog, hit me up!!!!!!!!!!!

The world is facing tough economic times ahead. The current headline in the news reports that the United States senate voted against the bailing out of the American auto sector. So right now the big three auto makers: Ford, General Motors and Chrysler might file for bankruptcy anytime soon. Oh my... things are going to get real ugly. Bits and pieces of the US economy are falling one after the other like dominoes. I pray that president-elect Barack Obama has a plan to get out of this financial mess.

The Asian American rap group, Mountain Brothers have a song called Paperchase, which is a hip hop slang for chasing after money. This is a conscious rap song about how paperchasing negatively impacts the quality of hip hop. All the (c)rap you hear in the mainstream nowadays is water-downed hip hop. The way the industry is right now, it forces rappers to "sell-out" to sell records. Paperchase can be found on the Mountain Brothers' Self: Volume 1 album.

The Mountain Brothers are a Chinese hip-hop group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It consists of 3 rappers: Peril-L, Styles Infinite, and Chops (who is also the producer for the group). Their name comes from the famous Chinese novel, Water Margin which tells the story of 108 outlaws that lived in the mountains and fought against the corrupt and tyrannical government officials, very much like Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Thus the Mountain Brothers named themselves after these legendary outlaws because they wanted to apply the same concept with hip-hop.

The Mountain brothers have released two albums, Self: Volume 1, which was released in 1999, and Triple Crown, released in 2003. This rap group is now disbanded. Styles Infinite is now a doctor and Peril-L works in a pharmaceutical company. As for Chops, he is still producing hip-hop music and he is well known for producing original music with a jazz/funk/soul feel, without the use of sampling other people's music. To this date, Chops has worked with well-known rap artists such as Kanye West, The Game, Snoop Dogg, TI, Bun B of UGK, Paul Wall and Talib Kweli.

Galaxies is the first single from Self: Volume 1 album. Its a lyrical song with complex rhyme schemes and smooth beats by Chops.
